I wanted to take the time out to thank everyone for being so supportive of AddictedToAllThingsPretty.com. You ladies (and dudes too) are some of the best readers a blogger can ask for. As I embark on my 1,000th blog entry I felt that it was time to move the blog to WordPress. I wanted to create a better subscriber experience as well as give the readers more options and streamline things. Below are a few tips to help you transition with us as well as some tips to help you navigate the new site, and description of a few features.
If you're subscribed to the blog using OnSugar and receive daily emails, you will no longer receives those emails as I am no longer posting on OnSugar. The blog is now being hosted on Wordpress.
Be sure to update your RSS feed (and other bookmarks) to point to http://www.addictedtoallthingspretty.com/feed. Even if you think you have the correct one, it never hurts to double check :).
The site navigation menu to help you visit nails, makeup, hair posts, and giveaways are located on the top left side of the homepage.
I’ve added a “Top 10” section on the homepage that will recognize readers that comment the most by showing their image, name, and a link to their site/ blog. This will generate more readers to your own site/ blog. Just a person tip: Update your profile image by logging into to Gravatar.com. Having a nice profile picture is a great way to get noticed.
Information for active as well as closed contests & giveaways will be located on the homepage in the scrolling section. That way if you want to enter a contest or giveaway, or simply need to find out if you won you can easily locate the information.
The blog is now completely mobile friendly. I’m a Blackberry addicted (and proud of it) and wanted to make the reading experience for all mobile device users. After all, we are women on the go ;-).
My social media and contact information is still the same. I’m pretty social so fell free to contact me via email, Twitter and Facebook

:: plays “It’s the First of the Month :: I’m so excited! Today marks day 1 of Addicted to All Things Pretty "31 Days of Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness 2010. Try saying that 5 times. For the month of October I’ll be posting a new shade of pink polish every day. I’ll also be featuring other “pink” related beauty items this month as well. This year for monetary donations to support breast cancer research we’re going with The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and our goal is to raise $2,000.00. Depending on how fast we reach our goal I may increase this amount.
If you’re a blogger participating in “31 Days of Pink” make sure you add this donation link on you blog post. It’s not necessary to link it back to this post or www.addictedtoallthingspretty.com, our main goal is The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Feel free to use any of the blog images from this series as well. Be sure to email me so I can update you blog on this post!

2.Apply 2 coats of white nail polish (I used China Glaze “Snow). Be sure to do thin coats and allow it to dry between coats.
3.Using a nail design dotter tool or toothpick dot the darkest shade of orange. Do this for all nails, then move to the pale shade or orange, followed by your bright shade of yellow, and finally the pale shade of yellow.
NOTE: If you want your nails to appear longer, reverse the order and start with the lightest shade of yellow first.
4.If your dots are thick (such as mine were) allow your nails to dry for about 10 minutes prior to applying your topcoat to avoid streaking. Also limited the amount of time your run your brush over your nails.

When this video came my way I honestly thought that Momma Good-Hair was going to have a full healthy head of hair. I imagined a huge ‘fro. Sadly, none of that came across my screen. The only thing I see here is a sad, delusional, misguided African American Indian American Cherokee and Blackfoot Indian woman. I’m surePrincess (if Kimmaytube is the queen I'm assuming she's the princess) Satin Bonnetplays in Momma Good-Hair’s hair all day with that hard brush. I’m not sure why she felt the need to do a Youtube video attempting to prove that she’s mixed based upon a hair type O_o. Learn to love yourself, your hair, and your African American race.

Once again it’s time to get personal. Not the one to shy away from taboo topics, I figured we can kick off the fall/ winter season with something good. What better way than to talk about skin care tips? Let me warn you now (just in case you didn’t expect it from the title of this post)…some of the things discussed in this post are of an adult nature. So, we just experienced our first storm of the season this past weekend. It didn’t put a damper on the weekend but I noticed that it really took its toll on my skin in the most undesirable way and it had me thinking, “why don’t we ever blog about this issues? I know I’m not the only one.” These are just a few unexpected skincare issues to be prepared for.
Chapped/ chaffed Nipples
Chapped chaffing nipples can happen anytime but once it gets cooler it seems to get worse. Consider cotton bras and maybe even a nipple balm. Nipple balms aren’t restricted to nursing mothers. They’re also inexpensive. Try Avado Organics Nipple Care Balm at Target for around $10 or Udderly Smooth Udder Cream for around $5.00.
Alligator Heels
Cold, wind and dry cracked heels don’t mix. Running the heater also dries the skin. If you have a bad case of foot callus try Be Natural Callus Eliminator for around $13.00 at Sally’s. To maintain smooth feet be sure to exfoliate weekly.
Dry ‘Gina and Chaffing
Sounds crazy but your ‘gina ages and can also become dehydrated and dry. You should be moisturizing your ‘gina when you moisturize your body to keep it moisturized and hydrated. Be sure to sure a natural moisturizer such as Nature’s Gate Pomegranate Moisturizer (if you like creams) or Jason’s Pure Beauty Oil. A great product for chafing is Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel (which can found at most drug stores and major retailers).

But don’t worry ladies…the colors are still the same. Zoya's "Fire & Ice" collection is now called Zoya "Flame". I’m not sure what prompted the name change see update below. This collection was officially released October 1st and has been appearing on blogs since September. None the less, the colors look nice from the promo pics. I’ll have swatches of these colors up within the next couple weeks. I’m surprised that Zoya haven’t already used names like Tiffany, Lisa, Sarah, Gloria, Crystal, and Valarie. Will Krissy ever come up?
UPDATE: There was a conflict with a previously trademarked name so they changed it.
Side note: There seems to be a little confusion as to what’s been causing information to be delayed or not received at all for Zoya collection releases. But I’ve been assured that everything has been resolved.
